Every year, the fireworks lit by thousands of private residents of Beijing to celebrate the Spring Festival present a spectacular show at night for quite a few days starting on Chuxi (the new year's eve). The climax is reached at midnight when the new year sets in. Another high wave emerges on the 5th day of the new year. The two photos below are explosions immediately outside our bedroom window.
